ISTA/ICTM Education Conference

October 19-20, 2018

Tinley Park Conference Center

Tinley Park, IL

CONFERENCE OVERVIEW

What a great time to teach science with exciting standards supporting real student learning. This years conference is jointly sponsored with the Illinois Council for Teachers of Mathematics (ICTM). The partnership allows ISTA and ICTM to provide an expanded program while promoting the need to support the integrated construction of knowledge.   Some program highlights included:

  • Friday Keynote Speaker:  Timothy D. Kanold   Heartprint: Living a Full Engaged and Well Balanced Professional Life
Timothy D. Kanold draws from his bestselling and IPPY award winning book HEART! Fully Forming Your Professional Life as a Teacher and Leader to provide research, insights, and tools from thought leaders inside and outside education. He examines ways for mathematics and science educators to live an energetic and well-balanced professional life every day.

The relational expectations, give and take, and daily chaos of a PLC school culture can sometimes be overwhelming. By understanding the impact of their heartprint on others, participants become more inspiring, more fully engaged in their work, and experience a magnified impact on students and colleagues—season after season!

  • Special Workshops
  • Numerous sessions covering a broad array of current topics. Many sessions of interest to both science and math teachers.
  • Friday Reception
In addition, don't miss out on...
  • District Group Discount Rate and Administrator's Discount- see information below
  • Anticipating  70+ science education vendors featured in the exhibit hall including many publishers, science supply companies and nonprofits offering teacher resources.
  • Raffles on Friday and Saturday with many free prizes worth hundred of dollars
  • Science Flea Market featuring many free classroom supplies and materials
  • Opportunities to network with colleagues and meet new people
  • Breakfast and lunch Friday and breakfast Saturday

Special District Group Discount

With the hope of providing more teachers the opportunity to attend our joint conference, ISTA and ICTM have agreed to a new discount program. If your district sends 5 or more teachers combined for math or science the two-day conference fee will be reduced by $25 dollars per registrant. To take advantage of this special savings contact Bob Wolffe at rjwolffe@bradley.edu. He will send you the the registration form to be used for groups. The same form will be used for all registrants regardless of discipline. DO NOT register on-line as an individual using this site if you plan to use the group option. Invoices provided upon request.

If your school or school district is paying for 4 or less people to attend, each person must be registered individually and a receipt or bill will be sent via email as each registration is completed. A single payment can then be sent for the entire group and each invoice will be recorded as paid upon receipt of payment.
